Sharukh autographed his naked photos ?
BOLLYWOOD star Shah Rukh Khan has found himself in hot water after claiming that airport staff printed his naked image from a full-body scanner and handed it to him.
The controversial technology, which will be rolled out across Australia’s airports by next year, allows security to detect non-metallic devices, objects and weapons on a person’s body but also reveals organs and genitals in the process.
Mr Khan told BBC talk show host Jonathan Ross that he autographed printed scans of his body for female security officers in an “embarrassing” incident at London airport.
"I was a little scared. I came out (of the scanner) and then I saw these girls and they had these printouts," Mr Khan said.
"So I looked at them, I thought maybe it's a form you're supposed to (sign) ... and you could see everything inside.
"And then I've autographed them for them."
His comments have been used to highlight privacy concerns of the technology.
However British Airways has hit back at the claims, saying they are “completely factually incorrect” and “simply could not be true”.
The airline says there is no facility for printing images from body-scanners.
The Australian Government has announced full-body scanners will be adopted around the nation this year as part of a $200 million airport security boost.
In a recent poll, 57 per cent of news.com.au readers supported full-body scanning technology as a necessary security device.
Yet concerns remain about a potential breach of travellers’ privacy as well as child porn fears.
Civil liberties groups say passengers should be allowed to opt out of having a full body scan for a body pat-down instead.
